Mesa Verde

Exploring the ruins at Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado.

Hello, my name is Gilbert Apodaca; I am a teacher in southern Colorado.  I was born and raised in Colorado.  I have a background in forestry, but my passion for learning led me into education.

My educational philosophy is that every person is entitled to a quality education.  I live and work in an rural district where need for quality education is more important now than ever.  We have come a long way in the last few years, but we have quite a bit of work ahead of us to help students become thinkers, achievers, and leaders.

I am pursuing a degree in educational technology for three main reasons.  First, I believe that technology can improve and help deliver quality education, especially in rural areas.  I want to become more adept at teaching individuals how to use technology to become more efficient and effective.  Finally, because educational technology

is the next logical career choice for me based on my personal philosophy and interests.
